The estate Georg Breuer
We enjoy drinking every wine sold under our label and identify
ourselves with each wine we produce. They satisfy our stringent
requirements for quality.

Our wines complement good food, are intense, elegant and age well,
attributes that correspond to our idea of quality. Therefore the date
of harvest by selective hand picking is always determined by the
highest physiological ripeness and perfect health of grapes.
In conclusion, the desired balance, aromas and structure are more
important to us than must weight. Extract and depth have priority
to yields.
We believe in traditional artisan methods of vinification.
Conscious of our commitment to protect the environment we implement
natural methods of viticulture.
Accordingly we reduce yields to an average of 40 hl/ha (16 hl/acre);
diversify from the single crop farming method and use seasonal
grass cover.
We consider wines as part of culture and life style and thus entitled to
elegant, artful packaging. The influence of aesthetics and art on each
label corresponds to our feeling for the wine.
The estate founded in 1880 by Bernhard Scholl and Albert Hillebrand
as part of a wine merchant company has been owned by the Breuer family
since the beginning of the 20th century.
We cultivate 30 hectares of vineyards in the best Rüdesheim and Rauenthal
sites. 80% are planted with Riesling, the Rheingau's most traditional
grape variety.
